I’ve been visiting the ‘Virtual State Fair” in Second Life this morning and I’m delighted! What a fun, interesting and educational way to talk about extension and everything they do.
There were rides, food booths, barns and displays. My favorites were the bumper cars and the winning peach pie with the blue ribbon attached. It was fantastic!
The virtual state fair isn’t yet open - the opening is tomorrow and they have an incredible line-up of events including 15 hours of live music, fireworks, barrel racing, trail rides and a trivia contest.
Seeing this makes me think about how great it would be for Penn State Extension to have a designated space in Second Life to gather all of our extension people from all over the state for any number of projects. It might also be a great idea for us to have a Penn State Extension/Outreach island on the teen area so that we can focus on 4H or extension with 13-17 year olds.
So many opportunities.
